Vampiress Review:"Bloodsuckers"

The Gist: Also known as "Vampire Wars: Battle for the Universe" its basically if Star Trek was about intergalactic vampire hunters and Spock was a sexy female vampire.

Clarification:  In the future space travel has found that humans are not alone.  Unfortunately the rest of the beings in the galaxy apparently feed off the blood of humans so humanity has put together a force who hunts down vampires to protect human colonies.  The group this particular movie follows unfortunately doesn't get along very well which isn't good as they are the only hope when other ports of vampire hunters are being destroyed by vampires who seem to be getting help from the inside.

Selling Point: Quintana.....see below

Female Vampire Factor

Natassia Malthe (Quintana)
If you've read my past blogs (instead of just looking at the pictures and video's even though that's probably what I would do too) you remember my frustration at how un vampiric she was when she played "BloodRayne" in the straight to DVD versions of that franchise.   I can happily say I do not have ANY of those issues with her in this movie.  As a matter of fact, she is the lone reason this movie is not only watchable but legitimately enjoyable.  As said in the clarification the crew initially doesn't get along and argue a lot.  When she's angry, her fangs come out, when she's around humans (which is all the time) she's kind of bloodthirsty, when she's not bloodthirsty she's horny.  That alone means when she's on camera, it's a must see part of the film for fans of female vampires and she's pretty much always on camera.  On top of that her wardrobe is pretty much skin tight cat suits or tight pants/corset combinations (ala Bloodrayne).

Because of the fact that you don't have to wait for something to happen and that she is seductive and vampiric despite being a "good guy" in the film, this film gets a Vampire Beauty Rating of 4 out of 5.
The only thing that would have made it better is if she'd have an evil female counterpart but that doesn't take away from the movies enjoyment factor at all.

  1. Something wrong with the second half of the film, it just repeats the intro over and over.
