Vampiress Review: "Monster Mash"

The Gist: Two teens after their car breaks down in a storm end up in a mansion inhabited by a mad scientists and a bunch of very lonely monsters.

Female Vampire Factor: There are four in the film.  The main vampires are Dracula and his wife Natasha.  Natasha is played by former soap star Sarah Douglas.

Dracula and Natasha are having marital trouble as Natasha is convinced (rightfully so) that Dracula has eyes for other women.  This thought of course being confirmed since he always has three scantily clad brides with him that act as backup singers (one of which being In Living Color Fly Girl Carrie Ann (far left).

As far as the vampirism goes the "Draculettes" are the only women to actually fang out in the film which happens during Dracula's dance number "Old Eternity Blues".

Final Opinion: So this is a movie version of a stage play based on the 1967 hit song Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Picket who himself stars as Dr. Victor Frankenstein in the film.  The script was updated for present day (in this case 1995) and consists of a lot of dated jokes based on pop culture references of the time. I give the film a Vampire Beauty Rating of 2 out of 5.  The damsel in distress of the film played by Full house star Candace Cameron does get bit by Dracula but she does not turn leaving the Draculettes being the films only real vampire T&A.

Family Matters was a television series which was a staple of the TGIF Friday Night comedy lineup on the ABC network in the United States from 1989 to 1997 before having its final season on CBS in 1998.  Originally a spin off of another TGIF comedy "Perfect Strangers" where it revolved around a side character from that show named Harriet Winslow and her extended family living together in Chicago. Once the show introduced the nerdy neighbor "Steve Urkel" the show switched gears to being about him and his obsession with Winslow daughter Laura. 

In the Halloween episode of the series sixth season young Richie is upset that he can't go trick or treating for Halloween due to a thunder storm so the Winslow's in order to help him feel better tell him a Halloween tale.  In this story the Winslows are a family of vampires called the Von-Winlsows and Steve Urkel is the hero confronting them in order to save the princess (in this case Winslow daughter Laura).

It's a comedy so don't expect much when it comes to horror.  Harriet Winslow (Jo Marie Payton) does briefly fang out in the episode as does her sister Rachel (Telma Hopkins)

 but those are the only Winlsow women with fangs on this one though as a consolation Laura is dressed as Michelle Pfeiffer catwoman in the shows opening so you do have that to fall back on. The Winslows had another daughter named Judy but she went up to her room sometime in 1993 and never came back down...ever.  (except to do the occasional porn but that's for another day)

Sexy Vampire costumes for Halloween

It's October and you know what that means.  Sexy costume time.  Of course I'm partial to the sexy vampire costume and the 100% goal of this update is flaunt them off in hoping that come the 31st we'll be seeing a lot more women dawning these instead of the now played out Sexy Cop, Nurse, and French Maid.  If not, at least female vamp fans have a new picture gallery to gawk at.
